Karl Jackson, assistant principal at Coleg Cambria Institute of Technology, leads a group of employees in their biggest fundraising challenge yet.

In recent years they have tackled the Welsh Three Peaks and Crazy 7 for Stepping Stones in North Wales and raised over £1,000 for the Menstrual Health Project (MHP) by completing the Cairngorm 4000, a long-distance hike. three days across over 4,000 feet of mountains in Scotland. eastern highlands.

Karl and speaker Paul Standring also conquered the four-day Freezing Fingers expedition in dark, wintry conditions above the Rhinogydd mountain range in Snowdonia.

This time the team are raising money for Hope House/Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices and are aiming for an extra £1,000 by overcoming their biggest adventure yet. View their fundraising page here.

“We will drive for over 12 hours in a minibus all night before arriving on Skye, then walk for over three days across the island, without accommodation,” Karl said.

“Everything we have will be packed into 20 kilo bags on our backs – including tents, food and water – so it’s an incredibly difficult challenge, but we’ll be up for it.”

He added: “The walk is not marked and the terrain will be very difficult but as usual we will train hard and prepare well. This is the hardest, most uncompromising task we have ever given ourselves, so the stakes are higher than ever.

The organization provides essential care and support to children whose lives are in danger and has two hospices and 15 stores across Shropshire, Cheshire, Mid and North Wales, helping to raise 7 .5 million pounds needed to fund the care of every child in need.
