Doncaster secured their place in the Sky Bet League Two play-offs with a 2-2 draw despite letting a two-goal lead slip away against Gillingham at Priestfield.

Joe Ironside had given the visitors the lead on the half-hour mark when he turned away Owen Bailey’s cross from close range, before Luke Molyneux’s superb left-footed strike shortly after put Grant’s side ahead McCann in a dominant position before the break.

However, the match turned around after goalkeeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala was sent off and Gills scored twice in a row to make it an even match.

The visitors were reduced to 10 in the 55th minute when Lo-Tutala was sent off for handling outside his area and Rovers’ advantage was immediately halved when Timothee Dieng’s powerful strike managed to get past the keeper replacing Louis Jones.

Josh Andrews’ tap-in took place against Doncaster defender Tom Anderson a few minutes later to level the proceedings.

Doncaster withstood heavy pressure in the closing stages but held on to secure the point required to confirm their play-off place as Gillingham finished the season in 12th place.
