Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo expects to know the outcome of Nottingham Forest’s appeal against points deduction in the coming days.
Last month, the Reds lost four points for breaching profitability and sustainability rules. The club appealed the sanction and appeared before an independent commission on Wednesday for its appeal hearing.
A decision is expected within a week, meaning Forest could know the verdict by the middle of next week. And for Nuno, the situation cannot be clear soon enough.

-“We are all waiting for this decision. I hope it will be very soon so we can face reality again,” the Portuguese said after his side’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.
“We don’t know exactly how many points we have – if it’s 26, 28, 30. Let’s wait and see. That (having clarity) will make a big difference – for everyone, not just us but the whole league.
With three games remaining, the Reds remain just one point outside the Premier League relegation zone. But they should take plenty of encouragement from a positive performance against title contenders City.
Missed chances proved costly for the hosts at the City Ground. Goals from Josko Gvardiol and Erling Haaland clinched all three points for Pep Guardiola’s side.
“We have to believe in what we are doing and realize the importance of what we have in front of us,” Nuno added. “We have to take the positives from this match. The attitude was very good and the players worked very hard. The support from the fans, even when we didn’t have the ball – they were always encouraging us to go for it – we have to stick with that and prepare well for the next game against Sheffield United.
