The eight-metre, 360-degree sphere promises a “touch of wonder, magic and immersion” at the Spiegeltent in Brighton’s Old Steine Gardens.

The Butterfly Trail will send visitors into a “magical” greenhouse where they can watch digital butterflies flutter around their heads and even land on the palm of their hands.

The pop-up festival takes place in the city from Friday to June 2.

Brighton-based pub company and craft beer brewer Laine runs the Butterfly Trail with Pixel Artworks.

Laine co-founder and CEO Gavin George said: “It has been an honor for Laine to host the Spiegeltent festival in Brighton every May for the past 11 years.

“It has hosted brilliantly entertaining shows in its venues – from local to internationally renowned artists – and it has provided excellent food, drink and entertainment to all who visit the city for the biggest arts, fringe and music festivals from England.

“This year’s Spiegeltent programming will be more compelling than ever, but it will take an unprecedented leap forward with the addition of an AR experience to the program. Laine is extremely excited to be working with Pixel Artworks to bring The Butterfly Trail to Brighton.

“It’s a first for both of us to present this at an outdoor event like the Spiegeltent, but it’s important for us to showcase the future possibilities of pub entertainment, something Laine has become famous for since “He opened his first pub in Brighton in 1997.”

Tickets are available from the Spiegeltent website priced at £10 per person or £35 for a group of four.

Riaz Farooq, Senior Creative Director at Pixel Artworks, said: “It has been incredible working with Laine and being able to bring this magical immersive experience to a new audience of families and festival-goers. Creating the content in a 360-degree format opens up a much wider use of The Butterfly Trail experience and people can feel fully surrounded by the butterflies.
