Officers attend a chaotic neighborhood brawl on an estate in the latest episode of Inside The Force.
Every month, Cleveland police respond to more than 120 neighborhood fights. Veteran PC Adam Woodland watches the latest episode 7 of the Channel 5 series, a big field fight on one of the hottest days of the year.
The officer says: “These calls that come to us in the big housing estates that we go to, we tend to go in droves because they’re all coming out… it’s like a war zone.” On arrival, several different incidents occur.
A woman is suspected of hitting her daughter. She was therefore arrested for simple assault and placed in police custody. At the same time, across the street, a bloodied man stumbles onto the road after being hit by a car and attacks the police.
Across town, PCs Dawn Rogers and Kern Smiles get into an argument during which car windows were broken and threats to burn down a house were made. While the suspect was arrested on the spot and taken into custody, he shouted to his neighbors: “You big dirty grassers.”
At the police station, the Middlesbrough Pro-Active team is tasked with tracking down suspects with a view to immediate arrest. PC’s Lucy Coulsen and Aidan Maloney watch on CCTV an assault in which a woman was stabbed in the neck during an altercation on a street in broad daylight. Intel leads them to an address where a woman and a man are arrested and taken into custody.
On a neighboring estate in Middlesbrough, a man is accused of assaulting his cousin. PCs Kern Smiles and Johnny Whitwell are present where a witness tells them: “Come and look at his eyes because he took them out.” »
As police custody fills up, PC Adam Woodland heads out to arrest a woman accused of smashing her next-door neighbor’s window with a hammer. The suspect is arrested telling PC Adam “It was me”. She claims this is retaliation and that there are ongoing problems with her new neighbors. “We have lived there in peace for 16 years. »
