Star Wars: The Phantom Menace returns to theaters this weekend to celebrate its 25th anniversary (yes, it really has been that long). With about a month to go The Acolyte premieres on Disney+, Lucasfilm is looking to build hype for it by attaching an extended preview to the 1999 film.
Now, this preview has leaked online (via SFFGazette.com) and features an edge-of-your-seat showdown.
The clip opens with Amanda Stenberg’s Mae entering a cantina and approaching a hooded figure who we soon learn is Carrie-Anne Moss’ Jedi Master Indara.
A fight follows which highlights martial arts And the Force, with Indara finally wielding her green lightsaber at the end of the sequence (this is then followed by a previously released trailer). The action here is top notch and might influence those who wrote The Acolyte extinguished before it even started.
“She is very inspired by Trinity,” Showrunner Leslye Headland has previously said about Indara, explaining that casting Moss was a “it’s obvious.”
“Personally, I wanted to see someone who had the highest status you could imagine in a Force-fu fight – someone who would walk in and you would immediately say, ‘Oh, he’s the most powerful Jedi in the world. piece.’ And it’s Trinity”, » teased Headland.
For Moss, Headland’s vision for The Acolyte That’s what convinced her to play a Jedi Master in a series that will see her character, and others, investigate what many fans expect to be the resurgence of the Sith.

“Part of me has forgotten how much I love action. I love that. It’s difficult. But I was really excited to be able to do it, and I wanted to do it well. ‘Give me another take! Give me another take!’”

The Acolyte comes from creator and showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian doll), who also serves as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are co-executive producers, and Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson produce.
The following Star Wars The TV series will premiere on Disney+ on June 4.
