Coronation Street fans think they now know who potentially hurt Lauren Bolton as her disappearance from Weatherfield enters another month.

As fans of the ITV soap know, Lauren was last seen on the cobbles on February 23 after being fired from her job at Roy’s Rolls by Roy Cropper. The cafe owner then visited her with his salary and some extra money to tide her over.

But soon after, the teenager was visited at her home by a mysterious person that viewers never got to see and she has not been seen in Weatherfield since as Carla’s new lover and nephew Connor, Bobby, found his apartment unlocked and strangely empty.

Bobby reported Lauren missing to the police, but it wasn’t until Sean Tully visited the apartment and revealed that he had spotted blood on the curtains that the case really began with her disappearance. And when it was confirmed that the blood belonged to Lauren, the missing persons case turned into a murder investigation.

Since then, Roy has been charged with Lauren’s murder and has been denied bail. In recent episodes of Corrie, viewers have seen the beloved character try to remember a moment between Lauren and Max Turner in the cafe that he apparently thought was important.

During Wednesday evening’s (May 1) trip to Weatherfield, Mary Taylor visited Roy in hospital after his earlier collapse and he admitted he was struggling to remember a conversation he had overheard between Lauren and Max.

After giving him advice on how to recall memories, Roy asked the prison guard for a notepad and pen and quickly began writing down important things. And that apparently helped because he suddenly remembered the interaction, where Max told Lauren about her mysterious boyfriend while she held the gold necklace around her neck.

And it quickly got Corrie fans thinking of lawyer Joel Deering’s receipt from a jewelry store which he claimed was for cufflinks before admitting to having an ex-wife and a daughter, along with the bill of a charm bracelet that he would one day give to his granddaughter. .

But viewers aren’t buying it and think he might have something to do with Lauren’s disappearance. @DaleMeachen said: “It’s Joel! Joel bought him this necklace and told people he bought himself cufflinks!!! #Corrie.” @Face4209Ghost said: “This is the necklace Joel bought from #Corrie.” @mrscarter22 added: “I wish he would stop with the dream works! It’s obvious that Joel is the mysterious “boyfriend” and that he bought the necklace. That’s what the receipt was for what Dee Dee found. Case solved! #Corrie.”
